Participants of the unique sailing expedition around Australia on board of the Old Slavonic ship replica Rusich took part in building an Orthodox church of the Resurrection.
The church on Tasmania Island will be transferred to the local community of the Australian and New Zealand Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, press service of the Synodal Information Department reports.
The expedition is headed by the honored traveler of Russia Sergey Sinelnik – graduate of the Missionary Faculty of St. Tikhon’s Orthodox University of Humanities.
Participants in the expedition plan to resume church building late in November 2013, then they will continue their way as they are going to cover about 8000 kilometers in the Pacific Ocean.
