The Golden Dawn Has a British Fan Club
On Saturday, about 35 fascists gathered outside the Greek embassy in
London to show their support for some fascists in Greece and announce
yet another nationalist movement in England, this one named the New
Dawn.
The demonstration was a response to the shooting of two Golden Dawn (GD) members in Athens earlier this month. Unlike their Mediterranean counterparts, who have become known for stabbing immigrants and beating up their opposition on television, the New Dawn confined itself to flying some flags, making a couple of speeches, and holding a one-minute silence in memoriam of their dead brothers in fascism.

IMF admits mistakes made in Greece bailout
The IMF was one of a trio of international lenders that in 2010
stepped in to keep the euro zone country from defaulting on its debt and
departing the common currency bloc. The IMF pledged about $39bn to
Greece at the time, out of a total package of $146.2bn.
Some IMF board members and others criticised the fund for giving
Greece so much money in comparison to the size of its economy, accusing
the lender of being overly swayed by its European members.

SYRIA: France, Britain confirms use of sarin gas in Syria
![]() | ||||||
| a Syrian victim who suffered an alleged chemical attack at Khan al-Assal village according to SANA, receives treatment by doctors, at a hospital in Aleppo, Syria. |
France said Tuesday it has confirmed that the nerve gas sarin was
used "multiple times and in a localized way" in Syria, including at
least once by the regime. It was the most specific claim by any Western
power about chemical weapons attacks in the 27-month-old conflict.
Britain later said that tests it conducted on samples taken from Syria also were positive for sarin.
The
back-to-back announcements left many questions unanswered, highlighting
the difficulties of confirming from a distance whether combatants in
Syria have crossed the "red line" set by President Barack Obama. The
regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad has refused to allow U.N.
investigators into the country.

Turkish Warships Pass Greek Islands

The Turkish Navy was again provocative as, for the second time this week, two Turkish warships passed by eight Greek islands.
The missile ship ZIPKIN and the frigate YILDIRIM entered and violated
the national territorial waters between Mykonos, Naxos, Syros, Kea,
Gyaros, Amorgos, Euboea and Andros.
In the last seven days, this is the second time that the Turkish
warships have violated the Greek territorial waters. The warships were
participating in a naval exercise called Thalassolikos (Sea Dog}, that
is taking place near Rhodes, when authorities said they veered off
course.

U.S.-backed Syrian rebels reportedly massacre Christian village
Members of the Free Syrian Army reportedly attacked the
Christian-dominated al-Duvair village in Reef on the outskirts of Homs
on Monday, where they massacred its citizens, including women and
children, before the Syrian Army interfered.
This reported attack
comes shortly after intense fighting in the city of al-Qusseir over the
weekend, in which Bashar Al-Assad’s forces inflicted heavy casualties
on the rebels.
Assad’s forces launched an offensive in April in
an effort to cut off supply lines to the rebels by taking the city and
its surrounding areas from the rebel groups that had been entrenched
there since last year. Two weeks ago, the Syrian forces reached the
center of the city
While the sources describing Monday’s massacre
are supportive of Assad, it’s possible that it occurred since the rebel
groups fighting the Assad regime are composed mainly of members of
al-Qaeda and al-Qaeda affiliated groups and have committed war crimes
and atrocities in the past.
Jabhat al-Nusra, the branch of
al-Qaeda that fought and killed American and allied troops in Iraq, have
positioned themselves in Syria and control the rebel movement.

Assad: Erdogan Destroying Syria by Reconciling with Israel

Syria’s President charged on Friday that the improvement in the relations between Turkey and Israel, following Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s apology for the deaths of Turks on the Mavi Marmara, is proof that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is trying to destroy Syria.
"We cannot let stupid leaders destroy the relationship with Turkey," President Bashar Al-Assad attacked in the interview, which aired on Turkey’s Ulusal TV.
The Syrian president claimed that Turkey’s reconciliation with Israel is a "small part of Erdogan’s destruction of Syria."
“Because of the situation in Syria, Israel and Turkey united suddenly, this is proof," said Assad, adding, “Erdogan walked shoulder to shoulder with Israel. Our goal should be to maintain the relationship [between Syria and Turkey], not to destroy it."
Assad also attacked the Turkish prime minister over the civil war taking place in his country,
