The Egyptian opposition has refused to negotiate with embattled President Mohamed Morsi. Activists called for mass rallies to be held on Friday to protest the newly written constitution that will be put to a vote next week.
The National Salvation Front, an alliance between Egyptian opposition groups and several political parties, issued a statement saying that the country’s authorities were no longer legitimate rulers. Additionally, opposition leader Mohamed ElBaradei appealed to all political forces to reject the dialogue suggested by President Morsi.
The organization is planning 17 separate marches to Cairo’s presidential palace after Friday prayers, calling the massive demonstration the “final ultimatum.”

The president refused to cancel the vote on the new constitution, but promised that he would form a new assembly to rewrite the constitution if the current draft is rejected in the referendum.
“Protesters in front of the palace immediately rejected the speech. Many of them held up their shoes to the presidential palace, which is an insult in Egypt,” journalist Bel Trew told RT from Cairo.
Morsi also called for dialogue with the opposition, and offered to meet with them on Saturday in a bid to defuse tensions.
The National Salvation Front rebuffed Morsi’s speech, saying that "the president is ignoring the attempts of the front to save the nation and his ignoring the demands of the people and their protests has closed the door for any efforts for dialogue.”

Morsi fled the presidential palace in Cairo after clashes erupted on Tuesday, returning only after police had dispersed the crowds. On Thursday, the military deployed tanks in the area near the palace to restore order. The clashes resulted in seven deaths and hundreds of injuries.

"Airborne priests and flying churches are set to fortify Russian soldiers’ spirits. Now priests who serve in the Russian Army will have to learn basics of military training to deal with an extraordinary device.
A unique hi-tech air-dropped church will be introduced in the army. The church consists of a usual army tent and a life-sustaining module (a diesel power source, air conditioner and fridge).
The chapel is put on the ground with an airborne platform used to carry armored vehicles and other heavy military equipment.
As heated debate continues in the Russian government over rearmament and military spending, some enterprising army officials have found a way out. The airborne church is reportedly needed because there are special sacraments in the Orthodox Church that demand a substantial number of utensils.
However some suggest the church could be used in order to bump up soldiers’ spirits. Others have a bold assumption that the project’s aim is to totally demoralize enemy with an unbelievable scene: a plethora of priests raining down from the skyline.
In order to match their new flying service, chaplains from the Russian Airborne Force will have to take part in military games in mid-March with their fellow-servicemen. They will not only practice parachute jumping, but also study the construction of a platform carrying the brand new airborne church.

Researchers leading a study into fossilized human remains in Kenya claim to have found that there were at least three distinct species of humans living in Africa two million years ago, providing a twist to the theory of evolution

The findings were published in the journal Nature and detail the exact measurements of the face, jawbones and teeth of the human species that researchers say roamed Africa around 1.78 to 1.95 million years ago.
"Our past was a diverse past," said Dr. Meave Leakey of the Turkana Basin Institute in Nairobi, who led the research, "our species was evolving in the same way that other species of animals evolved. There was nothing unique about us until we began to make sophisticated stone tools."
Previously held theories of evolution suggested that humans evolved directly from a common primate ancestor, which stands in opposition to traditional Christian beliefs that the Earth is only a few thousand years old and that the biblical account of God creating the world, mankind and all animals in Genesis is to be taken literally.
The recent scientific discoveries in Kenya, however, pull the debate in another direction by suggesting that there were a host of different species and subspecies of humans that did not survive, rather than one linear form of evolution that all humans followed.
"Humans seem to have been evolving in different ways in different regions. It was almost as if nature was developing different human prototypes with different attributes, only one of which, an ancestor of our species, was ultimately successful in evolutionary terms," suggested Professor Chris Stringer of the Natural History Museum in London.
The discovery also adds weight to a number of other cases where scientists have been debating whether ancient human remains belonged to a separate species or if they were just another step in the evolutionary process, the BBC reported.
"For a long time the oldest known human ancestor was thought to be a primitive species, dating back to 1.8 million years ago, called Homo erectus. They had small heads, prominent brows and stood upright," according to the BBC.
"But 50 years ago, researchers discovered an even older and more primitive species of human called Homo habilis that may have coexisted with H. erectus. Now it seems H. rudolfensis was around too and raises the distinct possibility that many other species of humans also existed at the time," the report adds.
