- If there is no good reason it is better to wait for the start of the new vegetation to prune broken branches from the snow, or burned by the ice.
- Prune those arms seem to have suffered from frost damage, reducing their length. Leave at least 3 cm from the first live eye that you find.
- Avoid nitrogen fertilization in the fall. Cause tender new vegetation that is sensitive to frost. Especially if your site has frosts using slow release fertilizers or organic fertilizers.
