from Mount Athos have travelled to Austria, within the grand exhibition
to be hosted at the Covent of Maria Loreto, in the federal county of
Burgenwald, east from Vienna, from December 3rd to December18th.
The exhibition will open its gates to the public on Saturday,
December 3, and everyone willing to join a religious and cultural
journey through the Holy Land of Mount Athos is welcome.
The hagiographies’ exhibition is co-organized by the St. Nicholas and
the St. Paul Convents in Mount Athos and the Athos Development
Organization. From November 4 to 20, the exhibition had been in Venice,
Italy.
The Saturday inaugurating event will be attended by representatives
from Greek-Austrian religious, cultural and political bodies, as well as
by members from tourism agencies and businesses and journalists.
During the exhibition, information on the Mount Athos icons and
artwork, on the wider Athos region and the nearby tourist attractions
will be provided to anyone interested.
The convent of St. Nicholas is located on the wider region of Mount
Athos, in a place called Monoxylitis, is part of the convent of St.
Paul, which expands in two monastic villages (skites).
Monks are not only creating hagiography masterpieces, but are
producing several products, which will be also displayed during the
exhibition in Austria.
