Donetsk Airport finally taken over by Donetsk Republic militia - DPR takes control over Donetsk airport after Kiev troops withdrawal (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

So it's official - Donetsk airport is controlled by Donetsk Republic militia now.
But at noon of January 17 Ukrainian army took an attempt to win the airport back, it counterattacked using self-propelled artillery and MRLS "GRAD" (M1964).

Tank shells explosions are heard in downtown of Donetsk, 5 km away from the airport. At least 15 tank are moving towards new terminal on air-strip.

The last night was not quiet for Donetsk too. There is no data on casualties available now.
