In one week, the group built this house for a homeless family that had been living in a cardboard shack.
The youth group of Holy Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, in
Rochester, returned recently from a mission trip to Mexico, where they
built a house for a man who had been living in a cardboard shack.
The man's son has tuberculosis, and could not live with him because of the dampness and mold. Now they can live together in this home.

The kids contributed
several hundred dollars of their own money and the rest was raised by by
the group over three years of work projects.
They raised enough to buy
all the cement, lumber and roofing material and had to haul it up a
hill, where they mixed the cement and cut the lumber to size.
This is an ongoing project of the Orthodox Church. Another group from the church was there three years earlier.
While there, the youth made friends with the locals who live in an orphanage nearby, which is run by the Orthodox church.
