St. John’s Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield, will once again hold its Christmas Bazaar in the church center. Parishioners are busy cooking and preparing for this event, which will feature homemade pirogie, clam chowder, halushki (cabbage and noodles), fish sandwiches, pizza, grilled shrimp Caesar salads, Spanakopita (Spinach and Cheese Pie),and fish dinners Friday, November 8 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Baked haddock dinners will be served starting at 4 p.m. On Saturday, November 9, the Bazaar will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 10 hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On Saturday and Sunday, attendees will be able to eat-in or take-out hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian Wedding Soup, Grilled Chicken Caesar salads, Chicken Marsala. City Chicken, and Cabbage Roll Dinners (starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday and Noon on Sunday) and more.
Many vendors and crafters will offer works of art for purchase on two levels of the church center. Homemade Christmas cookies already packaged for gift giving along with canolli and homemade Kolachi (nut, poppyseed, lekvar and apricot rolls) will also be available for purchase.
