I like being Eastern Orthodox because it is a tradition that dates back 2000 years. The Liturgy is beautiful, and makes me feel like I am already a part of Heaven. Christ is in our midst when we celebrate communion. I love having a faith that actually stands for something, that doesn't change or lower its standards just because the people can't live up to them. I love sharing the faith of those who were among the first to embrace Christianity.

Connected to the body of Christ.
Connected to a two thousand year history.
Connected the the councils that defined the Holy Trinity.
Connected to the Body and blood of Christ in the Holy Mystery of the Eucharist.
Connected to all the Saints who have gone before, and who will follow.
Connected to the Theotokos, the Panagia, the loving Mother of us all.
Connected to millions of Orthodox Christians world wide.

I like being an Orthodox Christian because of its beautiful faith and worship. There is no worship in the entire Christian community that lifts our body and soul as the Orthodox worship does. Also the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist is simply awesome and it fills you with a foretaste of what Heaven is like...
