Fugitive whistle-blower Edward Snowden has delivered Channel 4′s take on the Queen’s Christmas message.
The 30-year-old, who is currently in Russia after receiving asylum, is wanted by the US for exposing some of the country’s National Security Agency (NSA) secrets.
But that didn’t stop him from offering up his opinion on Christmas Day about the current state of privacy.
‘Great Britain’s George Orwell warned us of the danger of this kind of information.
‘The types of collection in the book – microphones and video cameras, TVs that watch us – are nothing compared to what we have available today.’
Previous people to deliver Channel 4′s Christmas message have included, Ali G, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Marge Simpson.
