The cry for a civil war in Ukraine is getting louder, as the tragic
account of the conflict between believers of the government of Kiev and
pro-Russian in Odessa, the Ukrainian port on the Black Sea, refers to
dozens of dead and wounded.
Most of them, at least 38, were killed gruesomely by suffocation or
jumping from windows, because they were trapped in a government
building, which was burned by Ukrainians nationalists. Pro-Russians,
after capturing the Trade Unions House, went up on the roof, threw
petrol bombs at demonstrators in favor of the Ukrainians and some time
later shots were heard through the windows of the building, before the
outbreak of a fire at the entrance.
The fire expanded and many "hanged" from windows, while people below threw them ropes to help them descend. "A fire manifested, which was caused by arson in the headquarters of unions in Odessa" the ministry said and added "38 people are dead, 30 were poisoned by carbon monoxide and eight jumped from the windows".
