Orthodox work in Scotland - Monk’s plan for a monastery in Hebrides

ELLENSBURG — Father Seraphim Aldea will present his work in Scotland during vesper services at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the local Prophet Elijah Antiochian Orthodox mission, 107 S. Dennis St. in west Ellensburg. 
The public is invited to attend, according to a news release.
 

Aldea’s work includes the restoration of a church structure, built in 1755, into the first Orthodox monastery ever in the Hebrides and the first in the land of the Celtic saints in more than a millennium, the release said. He is making new cells for future monastics, in addition to purchasing the land where the church sits.
