Sofia. The Bulgarian Orthodox Church marks the Elevation of the Holy Cross. All eparchies will hold a service. In the metropolitan’s cathedral of Sofia, Saint Sofia, the service will be held by bishop Yoan of Znepole, vicar of Sofia metropolitan bishop.
Traditionally the Elevation of the Holy Cross is the start of the academic year in Sofia and Plovdiv Seminaries, announced the press centre of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
The academic year begins with a liturgy and a blessing ceremony.
