Brussels. “Turkish politicians should learn a lesson not take offence,” Bulgarian MEP Evgeni Kirilov, who himself filed the proposal in question, remarked in an interview for News Agency.
The proposal was filed over the statement of Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan who said that parts of the Balkans which are currently within the boundaries of other countries belonged to Turkey.
He also said that his colleagues could not accept such statements, which was conditioned by European history and especially by the history of western European countries.
“I am convinced that my Greek colleagues will probably also file proposals similar to mine,” Mr Kirilov added.
