Kaliningrad, - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has sanctified the church in honor of St. Alexander Nevsky in Kaliningrad, calling on people to pray for the prevention of war.
"We will pray, especially here, to God to save Russia from attacks, including in this region, for the prevention of war between Russia and the West, so that no one scares us with this war and that so that we always have the energy to stand up for the life of our people," the patriarch said in his sermon after a liturgy in the newly sanctified church. The patriarch said the memory of Alexander Nevsky "should be especially strong in our people, who live here, on the western frontier of Russia, on the coast of the Baltic Sea."
