Russia
is extremely concerned by the stealing of nuclear materials by
militants in Iraq that poses a serious threat to Iraq and the
neighboring countries, official representative of the Russian Foreign
Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said Thursday.
"We are extremely concerned about the transition of
this important facility into the hands of militants that not only leads
to breakdown of deadlines for destruction of the Iraqi chemical weapons
agreed upon with the OPCW, but also represents a serious threat from the
point of view of a possible use of the seized materials by extremists
not only in Iraq but also in the neighboring countries, including
Syria," he said.
