Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine blessed to hold a procession with cross in the Izyum Diocese (the Kharkov Region) for peace at the area of military actions.
The reliquary with the particles of 12 saints' holy relics, including St. George the Victory-Bearer and St. John the Warrior, accompanied the procession.
Before the procession, Archbishop Yelisey of Izyum and Kupyansk together with other clerics held a service with prayers for peace in Ukraine, multiplying love and accord in hearts, cease of bloodshed, hostility and hatred among people.
After the prayer service, Archbishop Yelisey speaking to the believrs stressed that this procession with cross was called to unite people.
"Only mercy and God's help can enlighten people's minds. Thus, it is so important for us to unite in prayer to stop the bloodshed and hostility, so that our soldiers and peaceful citizens stop perishing. We should ask God so that people find strength to reconcile and overcome this complicated situation," the hierarch said.
After the divine service, participant in the procession with cross, renowned author and singer of Orthodox songs Archpriest Sergy Kiselyov gave a concert.
