After having worked in a very small room with difficult conditions for over 10 years, the sisters with the help of Developpement Economique Canada, Centre Local de Developpement of Argenteuil, MRC of Argenteuil, the Ministère de l’Agriculture et des Pêcheries du Québec and the town of Brownsburg-Chatham was able to continue the project that had started almost ten years ago and was only undertaken once again and completed since last November.
The new facility will now allow the sisters to work under easier conditions in adequate spaces allowing them to undertake the production of new products as well.
Among the guests present for the event were Metropolitan Sotirios, head of the Greek Orthodox Church of Canada, Mylène Freeman, federal deputy of Argenteuil-Papineau, Dominic Chartrand, representing provincial deputy M. St-Denis, Serge Riendeau, mayor of Brownsburg-Chatham, Scott Pearce, prefect of the MRC of Argenteuil, Marc Carriere of the MRC, Daniel Allard of Fromages CDA and many others, friends and supporters of the monastery.
It was in a climate of great joy, heartfelt moments and appreciation that everyone assisted in the wonderful meal prepared by the sisters followed by the service of the blessing of waters and the tour of the cheese factory.
