Arab Orthodox Youth threatens with Ecclesiastical Disobedience against Patriarch Theophilos

     

 

Arab Orthodox youth threatened with ecclesiastical disobedience against Patriarch Theofolos due to the marginalization he practices against Arab monks confirming that they will raise the banner of undeservedness and that they will escalate their actions if decisions were taken against the reformists priests and monks especially Archimandrite Christophoros Atallah. 

 
Arab Orthodox youth condemned the intended methodological and continuous oppression, regional and racist policy and expulsion practiced by the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem represented by Patriarch Theofolos and his Synod against the Orthodox Parish in Jordan and Palestine as well as compromising Arab territories in Palestine.

The Arab Orthodox Youth confirmed the historical demands of stopping marginalization against the sons of the parish and depriving them of joining the monk life, non-ordination of Arab bishops and not allowing them to be members in the sacred synod.

They demanded allowing the sons of the Arab Orthodox church to establish monasteries, churches, secular and theological schools in Jordan as well as recognizing the internal bylaw of Virgin Mary Lifespring- Dibeen monastery for nuns to carry out its role as all monasteries and making the baptism monastery, a monastery for monks rather than a touristic site.

They have also demanded the full application of the Jordanian law of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem No 27 of the year 1958 and suspending granting nationalities to Greek monks as it is with no excuse as a lot of Jordanian monks are abroad because of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate’s rejection to include them in the monk’s life in the patriarchate of Jerusalem.

The Arab Orthodox youth called on for respecting Jordan supreme interests by maintaining Arab lands especially in Jerusalem and the Arab Christian religious sites and banning their leakage to the Jews whether by long term rents or selling.

They demanded the Jordanian government to commit the Patriarch to fulfill the pledges he had taken before the Ministry of interior on the evening of his election as a patriarch of Jerusalem on 18/08/2005.

They said that what Patriarch Theofolos is practicing of attack on the rights of the sons of the church comes in light of what eastern Christians are undergoing of fatal threat, continuous attacks on Christians and Islamic endowments in Jerusalem and all Palestine, the judization practices, attempts to deform the Arab identity and public promotion for Arab Christians’ recruitment in the Israeli occupation army.

The Arab Orthodox youth emphasized their right of ecclesiastical disobedience over the Patriarchate due to the policy of arrogance and injustice practiced against the sons of the church in Jordan and Palestine. 

 

The Arab Orthodox youth held the Patriarch responsible for agitating the situation between them and the patriarchate especially by his arbitrary administration decisions which were the main reasons of triggering the orthodox street especially in light of the difficult regional circumstances in addition to his arrogance and failure in running the patriarchate.

They have made it clear that they would not stand still before the minority that are supporting the patriarch Theofolos, their harassment and abuse and they made it clear that they will use their right of legal charges against them as a response to this abuse.

The Arab Orthodox youth appealed to His Majesty King Abdullah II, the caretaker and protector of Christian and Islamic endowments to interfere to alleviate the escalating crisis that was caused by the Patriarch Theofolos and achieving the historical demands of the Arab orthodox sons.
